²¹ Amon lived in the same way his father had lived. He worshiped the idols his father had worshiped. And he bowed down before them. ²² Amon rejected the Lord, the God of his ancestors. He did not follow the ways of the Lord.

²³ Amon’s officers made plans against him and killed him in his palace.
